I have eight blogs that I maintain and all of them have an issue in common. When I log in as administrator I’m redirected to the dashboawrd and for all intents and purposes it is borked. The layout is all messed up and none of the functionality seems to work any more.

A partial screen shot can be found here: Link

Please advise as to what in tarnation can cause this?

  • CSS is not loaded, the page is not fully loaded either. So, I guess something wrong with your code, if you are using customized backend. Or your site is embedded external components, that external source is not working anymore.

I’m not doing anything custom though. This is pretty much default 4.0.

Just for grins I moved the directory out of the way and installed a fresh installation and copied the wp-config.php file over. Got the same results.

What is your domain, if I can take a look?

    Hello Salty,
Do you use any caching plugin? Have you tried to delete your browser’s cache?

I only have the following plugins activeated:

    Advance Social Sharer
    SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam

As far as i know neither of those do any sort of caching. I restarted the Apache server serving the blogs.

    I also did the following:

    1) flushed my browser’s cache, exited the browser and restarted it.
    2) Used the Internet Explorer (yuck! Never use that) which had never visited this site before.

Results have been consistent. At lunch time I’m going to try using my tablet’s browser which will bypass the company network just in case there’s a network element somewhere that’s involved.

The latter may well be the case as when I watch the server logs it seems to me something is caching something. Not enough entries in the access log for my liking.

Well… crud.. It works fine on my tablet so here at work there seems to be a caching proxy somewhere that’s mucking things up.

Great! I am happy all is fine.
