Dashboard looks funky!

try deactivating your recent installed plugins , or check in another browser

Same on Safari & Explorer. It was working fine yesterday. Somebody else with WP is seeing the same thing.

Who, where ? What theme are you using, have you tried deactivation all plugins and switching to the default theme?

The blog itself is actually working/looking fine, it’s just the dashboard that looks wonky.

What version of WP are you using? And is your theme up to date as well?

The standard troubleshooting steps are to: to turn off all plugins, reset the plugins folder and switch to a default theme.

You should try updating your browsers as well as update wordpress to the latest version.

I’m afraid to do anything because my backup had stopped working a while ago. Even when I chose to manually backup and sent to my email, nothing comes through. Same for downloading back up to my desktop. I don’t want to lose anything.

Then you need to solve the backup problem and update WP. 3.3.1 is quite outdated and presents a security risk. There are various ways to backup:

On that screen that I have, when updating to 3.5.1 it says this:

Downloading update from https://www.ads-software.com/wordpress-3.5.1-new-bundled.zip…

Unpacking the update…

And then nothing happens.

If the automatic updater does not work, you’ll need to do a manual update as detailed on the linked page.

Deactivated Plug-ins. Backed up. And got this message:

Download failed.: Failed writing body (93 != 7240)

@bellinipics: sounds like your host – which appears to be bludomain – is running out of disk space. Tell them and then you should be able to update, both automatically or manually.
