  • I am experiencing the same problem (no formatting for the last 24 hours or so) with WordPress 2.9.2 and a MySQK 5.0 database on GoDaddy paid hosting. I see the problem on both Firefox 3.6.3 (latest) Mac and Safaru Version 4.0.5 (6531.22.7) Mac (latest). Macintosh is Finder version 10.6.4. (Snow Leopard)

After reading the comments above, I have queued the patch that exists on the GoDaddy site, since that worked for McCherney. (Nervously!)

I will let you know if it works.

Oops! Make that MySQL, not MySQK! ??

Whew! McCherney and I agree! The patch on the GoDaddy Hosting Connection site resolved the problem! I am going to email that fact to GoDaddy Support so they know.

My 2 cents: I have had nothing but good support from GoDaddy since I started my blog in 2007. I realize that they cannot support coding changes, so if you need that kind of help, you should look elsewhere.

I come from a high-tech background (but am not a programmer) with several Silicon Valley companies.

Have also just queued the patch so hope i get the same results.

Must also add I haven’t experienced any problems with Godaddy for the past two years I have used them. These are my first steps with WordPress and will keep an open mind to see how it goes.

Maybe it’s a case of them still getting up to speed with WordPress after their own blogging software was unsuccessful, dumped it, and went in with WordPress.

Will keep you posted on the patch update..

OK, the patch did not work, but I think the problem is because of something I’ve done.

When i look at My Applicatons in Godaddy, it states my url as www.(mysite).com/blog

    It should read www.(mysite).com/wordpress

A few days ago i changed the root folder name from WordPress to blog, updated the links, but the blog screwed up.

I changed the name back to WordPress and everything was fine, then the Dashboard broke.

So i guess i just need to change the url in my applications from ‘blog’ back to ‘WordPress’. Can I do this without doing a re installation?

heylo! i’m having the same Dashboard formatting issues using 2.9.2 on a GoDaddy Paid Server. i did not use GoDaddy to install WordPress. is there still a way to install the “patch”? i can not find this patch on the Go Daddy Hosting Connection site. what’s the link?

    thanx!

ahh…. i found this bit of code that searches and cleans your WordPress installion automatically. it fixed my problem!

well it… er … kinda works. the front page of my dashboard looks fine now, but if i click on any subsection, the formatting is messed up still. :/

I just had the same problem – I updated all of my plugins and refreshed the dashboard – fixed the problem.
