    Hi,

For the past several weeks, the Add Review Dashboard notice has been displaying on several of my sites, closing it and/or clicking the “I added a review, dont show again” does not remove this notice.

How do I prevent this dashboard notice from continuously displaying?

    Thanks

    Hello @ccanthony,

    Thanks for your message.

Do you have access to the database? Please find in the wp_options table record that has the option_name as wbp_notice_hidden.

What is the value in the option_value column for this record? When you clicked the close button, the notice disappeared and reappeared for a few days. I understand well?

Try changing the option_value to 1999999999. Did this solution help?

    Best,
    Mateusz

    Hi Mateusz

The value displayed in the database is 1620709392 changing this value to 1999999999 removes the Dashboard Nofitication.

Unfortunately I have WP Better Permalinks installed on several websites so updating the database will be very time consuming, Is this an issue with the plugin or my wordpress enviroments? Will there be an update to fix this issue?

    Thanks for the fix

    Hello @ccanthony,

Yes, I will try to help you. Can I ask you to help me in this matter?

    1. Please change this value in the database to the value 1 (for record wbp_notice_hidden). Now notice should appear.
    2. Do what I did in this video (use the browser you used earlier to close notice).
    3. Check what value the wbp_notice_hidden record has in the database (before refreshing the page)
    4. Send me a screenshot of the entire screen so I can see what is shown at the end of the video.`

    Hi Mateusz,

    Thanks for the reply.

After completing step 1. and 2. I was unable to take a screenshot because when clicking “I added review, do not show again” button it actually opens the site in a new tab. Which doesnt produce a log for me to screenshot.

I have isolated the issue to only Firefox though, dismissing the notfication works in both Chrome and Edge. So I am assuming this is an issue with only Firefox.

    Hopefully this helps.

Did this fix the problem? What is the value of the record in the database now?

Both videos were recording in Firefox Developer Edition, as mentioned previously I do not have any of these issues in Chrome or Edge browsers.

    Hopefully this helps. Thanks

    Hi Mateusz,

Unforunately after installing and activating the above plugin i get this message.

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

@ccanthony Please try to remove the entire plugin directory and add it again. Did you download it via this link?
    https://gbiorczyk.pl/wp-better-permalinks-v4.1.1b.zip

I downloaded this package and installed it in my WordPress installation and everything works.

    Hi Mateusz,

I deactivated the plugin and deleted it as well as checking file manager to insure the plugin directory was deleted.

    Please see video.

I feel like at this point I’m just wasting your time. If there is anything more you may need, feel free to let me know otherwise do not worry and ill just stick to changing values in myphpadmin moving foward.
