Dashboard sabotoging live display

  • HELP!!! I am having problems with WP. My site and store imply that it’s live and pages are published, but it is not consistent in how I can view it. I have a few issues. First, as a customer, it shows my page but not my header image, even though it indicates it is published. Also, at the top of my dashboard the *visit my site* takes me to the WA login page where it says “Great News!
    The hosting for this domain is all set up and ready to install an awesome website!
    Login and build your website in just a few clicks!
    Not Already a Member? Join Today!”

    However, the *visit my store* link takes me to the page. So 3 different scenarios that are inconsistent to me and my customer. However, it shows in the dashboard under pages that it is published. All should imply it is in working order as the rest of the website is seen. What is wrong with my homepage?? Why won’t it go “live” across all links to be seen? I have been trying to troubleshoot for days now.

    And one last issue, my home page is taking me to the “Who We Are” but through the WP side ” visit store it lands on the shop.
    Everything is very inconsistent.

    Any suggestions? I’m very frustrated.

    Hello Starbyers,

    1. homepage:
    a) go in DASHBOARD to PAGES, hoover over the page WHO WE ARE and click on QUICK EDIT. Under TITLE you see SLUG. Fill in who-we-are. Exactly like this. And click on UPDATE.
    b) go in DASHBOARD to PAGES and make or choose your HOMEPAGE and check wat SLUG it has (see point a). Make that HOME.
    c) go in DASHBOARD to SETTINGS, Click on READING. The first option has to be
    A STATIC PAGE; HOMEPAGE, make a choice witch page you want to be your homepage.
    Check also in: go in DASHBOARD to APPEARANCE, click on CUSTOMIZE. Scroll down and click on HOMEPAGE SETTINGS.It must be A STATIC PAGE; homepage should be HOME (or whatever you named your homepage)

    2. headerimage: go in DASHBOARD to APPEARANCE, click on CUSTOMIZE. (Here you can change about everything on your page.) Have a look at SLIDER. There has to stand NONE. Go back to HEADERMEDIA and choose your headerimage.

    3.your text GREAT NEWS……..
    go in DASHBOARD to APPEARANCE, click on CUSTOMIZE. click on HEADERMEDIA and scroll down. There appears TEXT. You see HTML code with peaces of text “visit my store’, etc.
    If you want your own text place it between the brackets. If you don’t want text erase the text and leave the HTML code just incase.

    Thank you for your response! Greatly appreciated. Some of my issues were found. However, my Who we are page is still showing up on my home/landing page, where as I want my Shop to be my home/landing page. It filters The Who we are above all my products, now at the top. How did that happen?
    There has never been a “Home” page, but a “Shop” page instead. That’s how it prefilled/template set it up. …but now when I click on “view” from the >dashboard >pages >shop (front page, shop page) >(tool bar) view it takes me to this page where I get kicked out. It happens when I do several functions:
    Through WordPress if I try to visit my site in dashboard it kicks me out and says “The hosting for this domain is all set up and ready to install an awesome website”. Telling me to log in and build it. But clearly my website is installed. But if I am in the menu, under pages, products, I can view my website that way. Also from a cell phone or via 3rd party it can be viewed. I still can’t get that resolved. I tried following your instructions.

    Also, for my #3 issue, I still can’t get that resolved. My menu doesn’t have HEADERMEDIA. I looked for something similar but couldn’t find anything offering me that option in any of the drop downs. Weird.

    I don’t think I know how to help you out at this point. Only when I see it and that is not possible this way. What you can do is to go to the maker of SHOPSTAR! en e-mail them.
