& lsaquo ; without the spaces

Issue occurs on all backend pages. Using default settings and fresh installation of version 7.0.2 on a site with no other plugins or custom themes active.

    Hi,

We have tested this on fresh WP install Chrome, AGCA 7.0.2, WP 5.8.3 and unfortunately unable to reproduce it. Could you please provide some more information about it? What is the AGCA option name you’re trying to test?

We have tested these options in AGCA:
    – Admin Bar > Page title template
    – Admin Bar > Custom Blog heading
    – Dashboard > Change dashboard and heading text

    with this example:

    Test ? title

What field do you use? Please provide any additional information, if possible.
On sites with previous AGCA versions installed, additional saving may be needed.

    Thanks

    Hello,

I haven’t changed any WordPress or AGCA settings. Just a fresh install of WordPress 5.8.3 and AGCA 7.0.2. The plugin somehow stops the interpretation of “& lsaquo ;” (without the spaces) into “?” in all site titles. The issue can be overridden manually with the first option you mentioned “Admin Bar > Page title template”.

    Hi @antoanst,

Thanks for the update. We are enforcing security in later AGCA versions and such characters are encoded to HTML entities to prevent any potential malicious attacks. Unfortunately, this caused some problems like in your case, already encoded HTML characters will be encoded once again.

To prevent this problem, please use the original characters: “?” instead “& lsaquo ;”.

Sorry for the trouble, hope this will work for your case.
