Dashboard / Snoopy Error

Just did a clean install for the first time and I’m getting this error at the admin dashboard:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /var/www/html/WP_TEST/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 49

Any idea why?

I’m running PHP 4.4.2 / MySQL 4.1.18
