Dashboard Update not working

I use two hosting accounts with two different companies. With one hosting company, I can not automatically update through the dashboard. They claim I can not update if I installed with Fantastico and that they have an old type of control panel on my account, which they need to update.

True or not I do not know, but it is your hosting. I now update sites manually with that hosting account.

On new sites, again with that hosting, I install manually, which the sites now automatically update themselves.

i’m also having a problem in my dashboard updating, it just spins forever. Any ideas?
