    When activated, it appears that the dashboard widget is freezing the dashboard admin screen so that dropdown menus no longer work and widgets cannot be moved. It also stops the WordPress.com stats Jetpack component to stop displaying as it should too. Also, removing the reference to the dashboard widget PHP file in init.php appears to remove the problem but this only can be a temporary fix.
