Hi there. I’m assuming these two things are related.

Client has reported today that their Dashboard widgets are missing. I login to take a look, and there’s a prompt on the Dashboard to complete the WooCommerce setup.

    “Step 4 of 6
You’re almost there. Once you complete store setup you can start receiving orders.”

The site has been working fine for years – this has only just appeared.

If I click the “start selling” button on that prompt, it takes me to the “configure tax rates” section. Even when “Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax” is selected from the “Tax Options” tab, the prompt does not disappear and I cannot get the widgets back.

What can I do to resolve this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Can confirm this is happening with me too ?? Asked me to setup woocommerce again and it hangs site and consumes server resources. Please release a bug fix – there are hundreds, if not thousands, of users experience this.

We have the same issue on some installs.
After update the sales widget disappears and setup widget show up.
The Start meny of Woocommerce keeps go to a dashboard link and some dashboard pages are blank.

We try to installa Woocommerce Admin, unsucessfull. Any idea about this bug?

    Hi there,

I understand you’re seeing the WooCommerce Setup widget instead of the WooCommerce Status widget.

For the status widget to be displayed, you’d have to complete the task shown in the setup widget. (You can just open and skip them): https://d.pr/ILRxqp

Once all the tasks have been completed/skipped, the status widget will show up as usual.

    I hope this helps!

Hi Sunday – there is no option to skip unfortunately. Mine is just stuck on 4/6 (tax rates) and I can’t proceed any further.

    Hey @cosmicjamie,

For the tax rates sections, you have two options on the page that should dismiss that screen. If you simply click on the I don’t charge sales tax it should move you forward. if you do have sales taxes configured this should not affect those.

Unfortunately I do not have a dismiss option:

    Hello fellas!

    A quick solution to this:

Go to GENERAL config, activate TAX and put all products price included tax for a moment.
SAVE and Go back to the same config.

The Setup widget disappear and replaced by Sales Widget.

HI, We have the same issue:
“You’re almost there. Once you complete store setup you can start receiving orders.”

This has suddenly appeared this morning in dashboard. The website is up-to-date and has been operating fully for over 2 years and selling product quite happily!
I have even gone through the step sequence to the “task completed” last part and it is STILL THERE! This has to be a bug, surely…

    Hi @cosmicjamie,

This issue is caused by a known bug and our development team is working on a fix.

The temporary fix, for now, is either to:

    1. Complete the setup checklist – You can open each one up, change a few settings, save changes so it’s detected and marked as completed. (Then revert the changes).

    2. Hide the tasklist – Go to WooCommerce > Home Screen, on the tasklist select the 3 dot menu and click “Hide this button”: https://d.pr/i/gl1vPa

That should hide the tasklist and return the status widget.

Thank you for your patience while we look into this.`

Hi Sunday – as mentioned in my original post, I have already done this and nothing changes.

Hi @cosmicjamie, can you try the 2nd approach? I was editing my response when you replied.

    I’m afraid I don’t have that option:

    Hi @cosmicjamie,

Just to check, could you try going to **WooCommerce → Home** and see if you can find this:

If you click the 3 dots, you will see an option to dismiss.

Let us know how it goes.
    Thanks.

That worked! Thanks @abwaita, much appreciated.

    Hey @cosmicjamie

Fantastic, I appreciate you looping back to update us.

As a note to others, this may be related to a bug in WooCommerce 5.7. If you are still experiencing a problem, please open a new thread with full details, including if you are on WooCommerce 5.7.1.

    Thanks,
