Try downloading WordPress again, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, and delete then replace your copies of everything on the server except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings.

Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

I’ve re-downloaded. Kept the files as advised but my content is not displayed! Help

I see the re-installation has overwritten the old files. I guess there is no way to get those back? I thought WordPress was supposed to be user friendly! There are no words to express how I am feeling right now.

So, I’m assuming that you overwrote the wp-config.php file, which was mentioned as something to *not* replace earlier.

Do you have a backup? If not, you’ll need to edit the new wp-config.php file to ensure that it’s pointing to the correct database.

I did not delete that file. It is still there.

Hm, are all of your posts/pages/comments still there?

Did you delete/replace anything in the /wp-content/ directory?
