    Hi
    I run All-in-One Calendar on our website and it has become very slow

    I followed the database repair instruction, but the problem remains

    this is the error message

    <head>
    <meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=utf-8″ />
    <title>Database Error</title>

    </head>
    <body>
    <h1>Error establishing a database connection</h1>
    </body>
    </html>

    Does anyone have any suggestions please.

    Hi Jerry,

    I would assume that you are referring to All-in-One being a plugin. Are you working locally or is it live?

    since it is obviously having an error connecting to your database, can you verify that the database (or associated table) for that plugin exists?

    You can try to disable and re-enable it. Please let us know how it goes.

    Thanks!

    Hi

    Yes this is a plugin – All in One Calendar – by Timely

    The extension to this plugin – All in One Calendar Extended Views – works fine.This allows views as a “poster” or “Agenda”

    How does the problem manifest ? When end user tries to change “months view” the calendar hangs, it will change once they click refresh.
    From administrative view this is the script that appears – The request status is :200 The error thrown was : Syntax Error: Unexpected token”
    Once again if a refresh is clicked it’ll roll over to next month,but very slowly.

    I did disable and re-activate the plugin, but no change.
    I’ve looked in the phMyAdmin and there does seem to be database and table for this plugin, so I’m at a loss.

    Since I’m not a software expert this is as much as I can do.

    The problematic calendar is here – https://melbournepractica.org/calendar/

    I would appreciate any help you can give.

    Thank you

    Hi Jerry,

    I’m trying to reproduce the error it and this is what I got on my end:
    https://screencast.com/t/TjSOqHl4gj7

    Is there an option to clear the cache for that specific plugin? If none, can you try to manually go to the following directory on your server:

    /wp-content/plugins/all-in-one-event-calendar/cache/

    back it up by getting a copy of the cache folder and then eventually emptying it on your server. Leave the cache directory in there and only empty its content.

    Let us know if it goes well or otherwise. Thank you!

    Hi

    Cache emptied via cpanel with cache folder remaining.

    I have now repaired the date base, and tables for this particular plugin – All in One Calendar, but I still get this message

    The request status is :200 The error thrown was : Syntax Error: Unexpected token”

    Hi Jerry,

    I’m pretty sure that the tables already have existing contents and that they are important. Would you rather try to back it up and then try to start with a fresh install/copy of the All-In-One Calendar plugin please?

    When I say fresh I mean’t to say that most of the tables associated with that plugin should be empty.

    Let us know how it goes. Thank you!

    O.K. have done as suggested and installed a “fresh” copy of the All-in-One-Calendar but the problem remains the same.

    I have enabled wp-debug and this is what I get

    Notice: wp_enqueue_style was called incorrectly. Scripts and styles should not be registered or enqueued until the wp_enqueue_scripts, admin_enqueue_scripts, or login_enqueue_scripts hooks. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 3.3.) in /home/melbo625/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3547

    Any suggestions???
