Data gone after upgrade to WP 5.5?

    Hi. The widget is giving me a “Sorry. No data so far” message and when I check the stats on the backend, it looks like everything has been reset. I just upgraded to WP 5.5.

    Hi @gokumew2,

    There’s a known compatibility issue with WP-Optimize so maybe that’s the problem. Please check this FAQ for more details and report back: Is WordPress Popular Posts compatible with plugins that minify/bundle JavaScript code?

    Hi @hcabrera.

    I’ve done the three steps in the guide and also tried disabling WP-Optimize altogether but it doesn’t seem like anything’s changed. My stats are now at 2 views for one of my pages and that’s it. Does this mean I’ve lost all the data and it can’t be retrieved?

    Yes, the plugin wasn’t able to track your page views for some time (possibly ever since the conflict with WP-Optimize started happening in your case) and so the data from that period of time is unfortunately gone.

    Now that you have disabled WP-Optimize (which isn’t really necessary if you follow the instructions from the FAQ) the conflict is no more and WPP has started tracking visits normally again.

    I see. That’s unfortunate, but I guess things will get back to normal after a week or so after it’s gotten enough data to make a list.
