Data Protection and Compliance

  • Hi all, I have small site for a local choir, the choir is a registered charity.

    We would like to run the occasional competition; to say, win tickets for an up and coming concert. These competitions would hopefully help with subscribers to our site and also our newsletter.

    I know I will need competition rules, but do I need anything else for data protection compliance? disclaimers, what we will do with the data etc. Are there any templates for such things?

    Any and all emails collected will be used exclusively by the choir to inform of future concerts, newsletters and competitions.

    We also have several social media accounts such as Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and Flickr accounts. How would these effect Data protection?

  • WordPress is just software. Unfortunately, we can’t really help you with rules and regulations for competitions. You’ll need to check with your local and/or national authorities.
