    Hello devs.
Contact form E-Mail offers no checkbox regarding the new data protection law in the European Union from may 2018 that visitors have to check before sending an e-mail. I have read on lawyer websites, that it is recommended or even needed that the visitor contacting the site owner using CFE plugin has to approve that the private data is send via e-mail. A checkbox with a hint or approval message plus a link to the data protection page of the site owner would be good. Plus the contact form e-mail shall be secured by encryption, whatever that means or however this shall be done.

You, devs offer an option to set a checkbox only for the premium version of CFE plugin, so I can not add that checkbox needed by myself without buying the premium version, what would make the free version useless for EU site owners. We need either the data protection checkbox option to add this feature, or checkbox feature in the free version. There must be that checkbox which without checking can not send the contact request via e-mail. Please consider changing your plugin before may 25. 2018! After that date there will be high fines regarding the data protection law.

    Hi,

We have just published the version 1.2.37 adding the “Accept Terms” / “Accept GDPR” field type to support the creation of GDPR compliant forms.

After the update to the latest version you may need to clear the browser cache to reload the updated scripts.

The plugin also allows to turn off IP tracking to avoid saving that user info.

In addition to the above is strongly recommended to publish the forms over on a SSL secured website to guarantee that the posted data is properly encrypted and secured.

Thank you for using the plugin and thank you for the feedback!
