• I’m having problems figuring out how to handle longitudinal data in SportsPress. The squad number (jersey number) is a perfect example of this – it’s stored on the player, but is specific to a team. When a new season starts, I need to edit players and give them a new jersey number. This jersey number shows up on the team page of last season’s team.

I’m managing an ice hockey league. This problem extends to position, too. One season, a player played goalie, but the next season they’re a skater. “Goalie” is stored on the player, not on the team, so if I want to filter on “goalies this season”, I will inappropriately see this player. Unless I remove “goalie” from them, but then the offensive/defense roster for last season is incorrect.

    How do others handle this?

    Hi!

That’s a good question. We don’t have a feature to store this data in the way that you want. You may want to use some custom fields there so you can store team X player X season, for example or team X player X season X competition

Please consider adding this to our ideaboard: https://tboy.co/ideas

    Kind Regards,
