database backup

    Hi,

    What a wonderfull plugin! It just make database backups and mails it to you.

    I let this plugin make autobackups of my database. Really awesome, but what is it actually backupping? I got 2 active websites on 1 hostingspace. I did only make 1 database for website A. For website B I didn’t make any database, although there is some WPDB database I see, I think WordPress made it automaticly for my website B?

    Anyway, My question is:

    If my website crashes and I need to restore it, I don’t want to build it over again by spending my days of work for it. I have my files secured via ftp. So, I only need a good backup of my database. Is this database autoback a 100% backup of my website so I can restore my database and my website can be online like before, without any data (pictures, pages, text, codes etc…)?

    I hope someone can help me with this.

    Hi Sef, thank you for your question.

    The answer to your question is yes, this backup is reliable. If your database becomes corrupted you can restore your database using this tool.

    Hi mbrsolution,

    I mean, I did create database A for my website A. Later I did buy another domain and did build website B, but I never did create any database for it.

    So, I got website A with database A
    and I got website B, but it has no database.

    So I have backup of database A. That means website A is backupped.
    I dont have database B. That means I can’t backup database B, beacause it doesn’t exist. That means I can’t backup website B!

    My question: I wan’t a good backup of my website B, but how?

    PS: I see also a database called: WPDB. But I didn’t make that one. Maybe WP did make automaticly a database for website B? What do you think?

    Hi Sef, if Website B has no database created then you can’t use this plugin to backup the database because there is no database. In that case your best bet is to use a backup plugin.
