• When attempting to restore the database, I get the error message that “database backup is missing core WordPress tables: commentmeta”.

I have repeated creating the database backup and get no error message during that process. However, attempting restore with new database backups produce the same commentmeta missing error.

I also tried optimizing the database prior to creating a new backup. New database backup file still produced the same error message.

    Hi Pamela,

Please can you post the corresponding backup log file? (Use something like pastebin.com, and post the link here – as it’ll be too long for this forum).

    Best wishes,
    David

The log files don’t load and no download link appears, but I was able to download and open the log file via FTP: https://pastebin.com/eM2SK0Zf
    Thanks!

    Hi Pamela,

    Thanks!

Strange – the log file does record the “commentmeta” table being saved in the backup. So, at this point, it appears that the notification is the error, not a backup error. However, it’d be best to verify that first. If you send the database backup file through to me, then I’ll test it out on a test install. Email it to contact at updraftplus.com.

    Best wishes,
    David

Actually, I take that backup – the log does show an anomaly with the commentmeta, without indicating what was up. I’d need to get access to the source site to be able to debug this; if you were comfortable, you’d need to send your WP and FTP login credentials through to me (don’t post them on this public forum).
