Database details not being updated

    I’m having issues where wp-config.php is not being updated with the latest database details via the installer.php process.

    I’ve been migrating quite a few sites in the last 24 hours, from local env, from three different server providers, back and forth. This hasn’t happened consistently, but it has definitely happened more than a few times.

    I’ve been using Duplicator for at least 2 years, and this has never happened before, so felt I would post as it seemed so unusual. Could anything be causing it?

  • Hey @bonkerz,

    You will want to check the installer-log.txt file. It will have an overview of all the record counts from each table that were transferred. It will also show errors if there are any during the migration. You can then compare the counts in that table with the original data.

    OK, where I would I find that? I’ll go back to one of the sites I did it on – what am I looking for?

    You understand its the database details inside wp-config.php not being updated rather than tables failing to copy across, right?

    Typically if the installer can’t write to that file then an error is shown in the installer-log.txt file which will be in the same directory as the installer. If you’re unable to isolate the issue then you can submit a support ticket for this issue I can have a closer look at your setup. Please provide a link to this thread when submitting the ticket.
