I’m helping a pastor out with his new WordPress blog, fresh install of 2.0.1

If a post has any word with an apostrophe in it, we are getting this error:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘promising that people…..

I tried to do a search to see if anyone else has had this problem and how to fix it, but for some reason, no matter what I enter as search terms, I get a nothing found message. I did see, by scanning the forum, that there are a lot of database error posts, but none seemed to mention the apostrophe aspect.

If we make sure that there are no apostrophes in a post, the error does not occur. The wierd thing is, if we just ignore the error message and just type in the url to his site, the post is there, with apostrophe, no problem. So while the post is actually getting posted, this is still a major pain, not to mention that it is taking a couple of minutes to actually return this error message.

I have turned off all plugins to make sure nothing is interfering, and I have tried 4 different themes to make sure it was not a theme problem.

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to how we correct this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

edited to add: Thanks to using the tag “apostrophe” I was able to check out several other posts mentioning this problem. Unlike some of those posts, there are NO pictures in the affected posts, just a word with an apostrophe.

Quick follow up….turns out that when we disabled all of the plugins, the problem had cleared up. By activating them one at a time, it turns out the problem was with the Scripturizer 1.55 plugin. This is odd in that I have several other Pastors who are using the same plugin on WP 2.0.1 and they are not having any problems with apostrophes.

Could there be a corrupted file in this particular WP install? And if that is a possiblity, what file might it be?
