Database failure notification

Is there a plugin or service that will email the admin if there is a db failure (white screen of death)? I use services to monitor uptime, but for sites that I don’t check daily, this could be useful. Recently I had 2 sites hosted with Godaddy go down because of a server problem, but I wouldn’t have known and have no idea how long they were down.
