Database Field ip_address

Hello, we have noticed that entries created with an IPv6 are not being logged. Then I looked in the database and there the IP field is limited to 15 characters, which is not sufficient for an IPv6. I am afraid that this will cause the PHP process to abort and the mail will not go out. Could you please expand this?
