Database issues
-
Hello!
I have been having some stability issues in my personal wordpress blog for months now. The site seems to go down every once/two weeks because of database/server errors although in the first year/two years it worked like a charm. I always have to contact the hosting service to fix the database in order to get the website back up and running.
I have googled this a lot and do all things by the book (keeping plugins updated, using database optimization plugins etc. but still this may happen 5 days after optimizing the database).
At the same time the Google pagespeed rating has gone down a bit and the site seems pretty slow.
I can’t pinpoint this change to any specific plugin addition, but it seems like the more i started optimizing my website’s speed (with wp-supercache and smush-like plugins), the more unstable the website’s database has become.
As I am not a developer and know only the basics about developing the website, i have asked my host (bluehost) for tips for these errors and they always come up with the same answer – the problem is in the plugins my website is running. However you can find my website from: omavaraisuushaaste.com and as you can see there is not that many plugins running.
I have seen pages with lots more visible plugins to run smoothly, so it seems weird why my site with so few plugins still gets database errors and as the bluehost people say there are too many scripts running at the same time.
Also, one of the bluehost people gave me a list of not working javascrip on my blog, which is as follows if it gives more light to the matter for people who understand this:
https://c.sharethis.mgr.consensu.org/v1.0/cmp/portal.html (291B of inline JavaScript
https://platform-api.sharethis.com/js/sharethis.js (49.8KiB)
https://platform-api.sharethis.com/js/sharethis.js (49.8KiB)https://c0.wp.com/c/5.2.1/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js (86.8KiB)
https://c0.wp.com/c/5.2.1/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js (7.7KiB)https://omavaraisuushaaste.com/ (3.2KiB of inline JavaScript)
https://c0.wp.com/c/5.2.1/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js
https://c0.wp.com/c/5.2.1/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js
https://c0.wp.com/c/5.2.1/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js (86.8KiB)https://omavaraisuushaaste.com/wp-content/themes/sparkling/assets/js/vendor/bootstrap.min.js?ver=5.2.1 (30.6KiB) https://omavaraisuushaaste.com/wp-content/themes/sparkling/assets/js/functions.js?ver=20180503 (1.2KiB) https://omavaraisuushaaste.com/wp-content/themes/sparkling/assets/js/vendor/bootstrap.min.js?ver=5.2.1 (30.6KiB))
Do these sound like they are sever errors or just minor ones? As you can see I’m running Sparkling theme, which I have heard is ok but when I look at the errors, there seems to be a couple of issues with the theme’s javascript. Do you think these errors matter that much as I guess every script has some kind of errors? I didn’t have issues with Sparkling in the beginning and I know a couple of other sites, which run it smoothly as well.
And for reference, the plugins i have in my blog are the following if any of these catch your eye if they are the problem:
Akismet-spam
Annual Archive
Disable Gutenberg
Google Analytics
Header and Footer Scripts
Jetpack by WordPress.com
Link Manager
Login LockDown
No Self Pings
OPML
Really Simple SSL
Say What?
Smush
WP Super Cache
WP to Twitter
WP User Avatar
WP-Optimize
WP-Sweep
Yoast SEO
If anyone can help with fixing the stability issue once and for all or guide me to right direction, I would be very grategul, thank you!
