• One of my blogs has failed to update to Wp2.8 via a fantastico script (I guess) – all other blogs on the same server updated just fine.

    The error it gives is:

The database stubbyd_wrdp1 is not working properly and the creation of a database backup file has failed. Please contact the sysadmin for further assistance. Include this message for reference.

The initial installation has not been modified.

When trying to view the blog I don’t get any posts showing up and it takes quite a while (>30s) to display even the theme. I’ve tried this from several locations in case it is my ISP or cache, etc with no difference.

If I log in to the backend (also v.slow) it shows up ok and disabling plugins doesn’t make it any faster so don’t think this is the issue. The backend also shows I’m running 2.8 – so some how the upgrade failed.

I do have backups but was wondering what the best way to approach this would be.

Should I manually install 2.8 and then restore the database and then ??

    or ??

Any pointers would be great. An alternative might be to scrap everything that’s there and start it again – but pointers on that would be nice as well. Thanks to all in advance.

Forget that – turns out it is a plugin.

I somehow missed disabling one plugin and when I did everything kicked back in. Proven by re-enabling all plugins bar this one, testing and then enabling the last one and re-testing.

It failed (speed and display wise) as soon as it was enabled. The plugin at fault is / was: Tweet this. Not sure if it was the plugin itself or some clash with my setup.

    Any ideas?
