I have Wordfence Security 3.5.1 installed and am getting what seems to be excessive overload on one of my database tables. The database is about 8 MB in total and the overload of table wfConfig runs at over 1.5 MB. This table seems to be associated with Wordfence, and no matter whether I optimise or repair the table in myphpadmin, the overload returns within 24 hrs. I have also tried to deactivate and reactivate the plugin, but this has not helped.

I could just set my database plugin to optimise on a daily basis, but is there a solution for this issue?

    Hi,

Can you tell me what you mean by overload? Is it just unusually large in size? Or are you seeing something else?

    Thanks,

    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for your response. Wordfence is functioning absolutely fine. The issue is only with the unusually large size of the overhead, in relation to the overall size of the database.

I read that databases should be optimised once a month or so to reduce the total overhead below 10% of the total size of the database. But as things stand I need to optimise every day, and as soon as I run Wordfence from the Dashboard, for example to check for recent visitors, the high overhead (1.5 MB) of the wfConfig table reappears again.

    Thanks,

    Barnez
