Since yesterday, I haven’t been able to access the dashboard; it just gives me this message: Error establishing a database connection.

After a bit of investigation, I ran the WP database repair and it returned this message:

The wpq4_options table is not okay. It is reporting the following error: Table ‘thevicsw_wp431.wpq4_options’ doesn’t exist. WordPress will attempt to repair this table…
Failed to repair the wpq4_options table. Error: Table ‘thevicsw_wp431.wpq4_options’ doesn’t exist

How do I recreate this missing table?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • If you have phpMyAdmin access to your database, you can check to see if that table actually exists.

The error message your getting is to be expected. The repair tool cannot repair something which it can’t find. (Although why it doesn’t throw a different error is odd.)

I have sometimes had luck in the past just manually creating a table like that via phpMyAdmin. You can try that and then run the repair tool again.

    Hi kjodle,

Thanks for your response. I did as you suggested and created the table in phpAdmin. I can now access the login screen but when I try to log in, I get “The page isn’t redirecting properly. An error occurred during connection.”

    Any ideas? :-S

Try deleting your cookies. That sometimes clears up a redirect issue.

It’s OK, I restored the database from a backup and it works now. Thanks for your help though ??
