• Hey Guys,

First time trying to setup wordpress and i have already came across problems.

Basically i am following the instructions and i am on the bit that mentions making a database on your hosting. I am using 123 reg for my domain and hosting.

When i head on over to the database section it allows me to make a database but when i go in it says no privileges and i cant find anything on how to change them over ready for wordpress.

Any help on this matter..? From looking at videos to do with the setup this should be something it askes you when your setting it up but with 123 reg you click add database and its done, makes a username and password etc…

    Cheers,

    Tyler

    Hi

I work on behalf of 123-reg.

Additional Privileges shouldn’t be required to run WordPress with 123-reg hosting.

If you haven’t already you can contact us via https://www.123-reg.co.uk/support//protected/askaquestion.aspx

So should be able to just set up the database and thats it then link it with wordpress..?

Cheers, i will drop them a message as well.

    Yes, that is correct.

We host hundreds of WordPress web sites on 123-reg hosting, maybe you have missed a step on install or need a bit of assistance.

Our support team should be able to correct the issue or advise you.

    Regards,

    Ricky

Ok, i will try it out now, from some install videos i saw it mentioned i needed to give all privileges for wordpress to work properly.

Ill give it a go and if i get any problems i will drop them an email.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

    Hi Webfusiononline,

I am joining this thread because I can’t find where to post a new question.

I am with 123-reg. They have installed WordPress alongside my static website in a folder named (originally) ‘blog’.

When I try to log on to wordpress to start, I am asked for a username and a password – which I don’t yet have. Can you tell me what to do next?

Or where to post a new thread – I just keep going round in circles!
    Thanks, Penelope
