The OGC database table that gets created appears to be considered as orphaned by a lot of DB plugins (main one I use is WP-Optimize). If you go to the tables tab, you’ll see that it thinks OGC is no longer installed/using that table and allows you to remove it. This could be confusing for “non-techy” users.

I’m not sure why it thinks that, but for all other plugins that have created a table (in my case, Smush, Yoast and another plugin I now can’t remember), the issue does not exist, for some reason it’s only OGC that has this issue at the mo. I’m in the process of getting a staging environment setup that is like-for-like so will supply credentials so you’re able to see it yourself.

I’ve been analyzing it because WP-optimize says OGC is not installed.

The plugin is based on the Text Domain in the plugin header. The optimum gravatar cache uses the OGC Text Domain instead of the optimum-gravatar-cache name.

It does not make sense, if wp-optimize reads the information from the plugin’s header it’s because it’s installed! Right!

The truth is that wp-optimize does not realize much of logic. It can denigrate the image of many p lugins without reason.

I’ll analyze it better, then I’ll open a topic in the plugin forum.

I opened a topic with WP-Optimize earlier, as I remembered it had happened to me previously with another plugin as well (although I didn’t use it for long, as I then found OGC ??)

Hello Will,

It is decided, I will change the Text Domain to optimum-gravatar-cache already in the next version. To avoid this discomfort as well as to make it easier for others to guess the plugin’s slug, in translations and others.

@jomisica – FYI: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/tables-tab-shows-a-plugin-not-installed/#post-11184217 it looks like it might have been a WP-Optimize issue, although I’m sure I also saw it other DB plugins. Maybe they all follow the same logic?

Anyway, I’m going to change Text Domain in version 2. This is for users who want to translate the plugin. To avoid collisions of plugins names, if someone creates a plugin called OGC.

I can confirm, OGC is no longer showing as orphaned with the latest WP Optimize update (per the topic I opened with them!)
