I saw the other thread about this but it’s still not working for me. It appears to do a couple hundred then fail. We have 15k entries. Is there a better way to do this? Are there settings on the server that could be adjusted? This could take a very long time sitting here hitting run update again every time it fails.
    thanks

  • Same here, and now it’s freezing all the sites on my server (when the update is not running) and creating database connection errors, using over 100% of a large servers CPU. I can’t do anything on the backend of my site either, when the database errors do go away, any help appreciated. Also, when errors does this upgrade solve? We have over 80k entries.

    Thanks,

    Hi @fooey and @ca3sar !

Don’t worry about this little bug, it’s just that the update tried to process a large number of user earnings entries to add extra data, this means that no matter if the process fails, if you run it again in version 2.3.7 or in the new version, 2.3.8, the process will continue exactly where it stopped.

And I just want to remind that this database update is 100% safe as it is only adding data to the user’s earnings, no data is deleted or anything like that so if the process stops, you won’t lose anything.

Anyway, do you have a copy of your PHP error log file to see what happened to cause the process to fail?

    Hello,
Today I am not seeing the notice to update the db? Yesterday it failed with more than 15k entries still not done. I checked the php error log and the only thing I found was a memory exceeded. It’s set at 256M. I was going to change that to 500 and run again but as I said the error message is gone. ??

    Hi @fooey

If your case is only a memory exceeded error, you can increase it if you know how and run again, in this way, you will let our upgrade process finish to process all the entries

And @ca3sar, please, open a support ticket at https://gamipress.com/contact-us/ or writing us at [email protected] and send us a copy of your PHP error.log file

IMPORTANT: Do not place your PHP error.log file here, these forums are public and your error.log file could contain sensitive information so only send it through a private way

    Hope it helps!

    Ah @fooey

I just forgive to mention that, if you do not see the upgrade notice, it means that there is no entries to update, so the upgrade was finished correctly ??

    Hi @fooey and @ca3sar

Our team just released a new update today, the 2.3.9 update, that will prevent this from happening again and will make the upgrade process run smoothly to prevent your site from collapsing while running.

Please, update GamiPress to the 2.3.9 update and run the upgrade again while it gets installed.

    Hope it helps!
