Database Update Required ? Nothing Happens

  • I recently updated to the newest version of wordpress 3.52. I do not remember what version I had before, but now I am getting a message when I login to admin panel;

    “Database Update Required

    WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.

    The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.”

    I click the button and nothing happens.

    I have tried all the fixes from;
    1. removing the 2 WP file directories with a fresh install.
    2. re-naming themes folder to disable current theme
    3. re-nameing plugin folder to disable

    Nothing seems to be working and I need to change some stuff on the website ASAP ! Can anyone help please ?

    I even tried removing the folders except wp-Content. And re-downloading a fresh copy and still get the same error… Someone please HELP !!!!

    OK, this is getting extremely annoying !!!! ANYONE OUT THERE ABLE TO HELP ME ?
