Get the message that “WP to Twitter needs to perform a database update. This may take a few minutes” in the admin console. We hit the link to perform the update and get the “Processing data migration…” message, but it seems to hang there indefinitely (certainly more than “a few minutes.”).

Anything we can do to manually perform that update?

Using version 3.0.2 with WP 4.1.1.

NM. Looks like we had a couple server config issues… too little memory and too short of a timeout set. After finding the relevant messages in the Apache error log, was relatively easy to track down.

Thanks for following up. Yes, it’s not a complicated database change, but it does have to be run on every post that’s previously been Tweeted, so it can take a while in some cases. Increasing memory available or processing time is generally enough.

Same problem, but there is no way to remove the message. WP to Twitter works, but the message is not removed. Not memory problem or response time related ??

:/ there is a chance to remove the message ? Me, as an user, will think maybe for another plugin, since I have many posts, and can’t update in this manner… too bad, works fine.

Yes, that’ll be in the next release, which is going to be out later today.

This upgrade should be done via cron in small batches. Getting all post with single query by get_posts it’s really bad solution – I have a large installation with tens of thousands of posts and memory consumption is enormous.
