    Hi,

I checked one of my installs today to see all the outbound links were adding the domain at the start and various things were not as they were.

I hadn’t added anything new so checked the database to see all the wp_ fields were now NDrNig7 at the start of each table. Every one of them.
Would this signify a database corruption or a hack, and what would be the best way to fix this?

    Thanks.

  • If you are unsure whether your pages have been hacked, you can check them with Wordfence: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordfence/.

What you describe to the tables is the prefix, which should always be set in WordPress and is defined via the wp-config.php. You can change this via security plugins during operation, but you don’t have to. That an attacker does something like that I have never seen.

Thanks @threadi I ran Wordfence and all looks okay. I think its just how the tables are set as another install has something other than wp_ too!
