DataLayer not updated after user action on banner

Hi, I am experiencing a blocking problem: no matter what action is performed on the banner, the dataLayer is not updated right away. To see the modified event connected to the consent one must close and reopen the page. This even if the option to reload the site after a user action is checked. Browsing the cookies I can see that the cookie consent banner cookie is updated correctly, but the dataLayer is not, thus causing Tag Manager to behave wrongly.
