Date and Time Script or Plugin on Static Page

Is it possible to insert a script into a page that is a static page? I’m using a static page for the the front end of my blog, and I’d like for it to have the date and time as an automatic update process instead of me manually changing it every day. Actually, I’d settle for just the date… ?? if anyone could help with this, greatly appreciated. I have it on a widget for my sidebar, but there is a section on the static page that says: What’s New, and that is where I’d like to add it also.
