Date condition on custom fields

I want to create an automation condition that is sent 1 DAY BEFORE a CUSTOM field called “date-of-next-appointment”
While I can use conditions such as equal, or greater than, it doesn’t allow for x days before/after like it does for prebuilt date fields.
This essentially means I’m unable to send reminders for sessions, and follow up after a meeting for these clients.
Any plans to introduce this functionality, or workarounds?
