Date display in Chinese for Archives was in wrong format

  • Date format in English was perfect: e.g. Nov. 2010
    Date format in Chinese was perfect everywhere except for Archives in widgets. It mixed # with Chinese characters: e.g 2010年十一月. I would like to have 2010年11月。

    Q1. how to set it up correctly? I set the date format in setting (both general and language), which works well for display every where but archives, why?

    Q2. Where do you go to access the codes and modify them? For example, many of you talked about modify wp_get_archives(), but where is it? Could someone be kind enough to point me to the right place?
