One of my CF7 forms didn’t work so well today. The date field did not work in IE 10.0.9200.16635 or Firefox 22.0. Worked fine in Chrome 28.0.1500.95m.

Would not send form because it could not validate the date format in the date field.

One complication is that I just loaded WP 3.6, so not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Could use some direction on where to start to identify the problem.

  • Include a link to your CF7 form if possible. If others here are able to understand your actual problem, they may be able and willing to offer a possible solution.

We always get a number of similar comments in this forum after each WordPress upgrade. It might seem an obvious conclusion but nevertheless it’s typically incorrect.

Not able to: this is a working site that we needed to have online.
We did a work around by replacing the date-type fields with text fields. This way it doesn’t matter what they put in the box.
It’s a terrible work around, but expeditious.

I started this thread so that the plugin authors are aware of the problem. They (or others) will need to recreate it. The date fields they are using are relatively new, and in our opinion, not working well in all browsers. I’m not sure what the code is written in, but something is not right.

Understand, I did NOT indicate that I believe that the WP 3.6 upgrade was at fault. Rather, it was a variable and needed to be included in any considerations.

Date field is not working in Safari as well as Firefox and Explorer. It only works in Chrome and Opera. Anyone have a fix for this yet, or do I have to use a text field for the date in the mean time?

Contact Form 7 has some Datepicker support via the new HTML5 date input type (see https://contactform7.com/date-field/) but this is currently only supported on some browsers – see https://www.wufoo.com/html5/types/4-date.html

Text field may your best option at this stage.

Yes, that was what we did. A little low-tech, but what can you do.
