date filter not working

At first, thanks for the great plugin.

Problem: the sort by date function is new. However, it doesn’t work.

I tried
trans=”SortByDateField(date-34,ASC,d/m/Y)”
trans=”SortByDateField(date,ASC,d/m/Y)”
trans=”SortByDateField(date)”

without succes.
When I use shortcode for datatable in the front page I can sort out on date manually, but I don’t want the users to do this all the time before they can read the data.

Are you familiar with this problem and is there a way to fix this?
