Date format on member profile form

Hello, I have a member profile form with a date of birth field.
The date is using a dd/mm/yyyy format (choosen into ‘advanced’ options) and ‘Italian’ as calendar localization.
There is a problem when saving a date because if I write, for example, 5th october 1962
– both selecting from calendar or typing 05/10/1962 – and save the form, all seems ok but reopening ‘edit profile’ the date is converted into 10/05/1962 and the calendar show may 10th.
In few words: the date is saved in a format that is not the same used for reading, inverting month and day.
