Date in blogpost

Hi, I’ve recently installed the theme LESS from Jared Erikson (https://lessmade.com/themes/less/). Now in it’s original form, this theme is very basic, stripped for any neccessary stuff, such as date in post. I’ve contacted Jared, on how to get date in post, and he’s reply was:

” just put <?php the_date(); ?> inside the post loop and you are good”

Now, I know nothing of modify in wordpress, I would really like som help, where I should put this line of text ? scribbling.net uses the same theme, WITH date ??
