Date Search

  • Hi,
    since you write that one can search also the date field I assume I am just not able to make proper use of the format the date needs to be entered. Could give me a short guide how to search for dates please. (Even better if you have the resources: Yould you add a date picker?)

    PS: I found out myself, that “greater than” or “lesser than” plus “aplhabetical” plus “text input” plus YYYY-MM-DD as a date format works. But honestly, regular website users have hige difficulties entering something in a proper date format. What would you do?

    Hi @mimesot,

    Yes, I was planning to add a datepicker at some point although haven’t got round to it yet.

    For the time being the sites that I’m aware of using date search use dropdowns with pre-determined options. So you could create e.g range options for each year e.g. (value “2019-01-01:2020-01-01”, label “2019”) or options for before/after a certain date (e.g. value “2020-05-01”, label “Since May 2020”).

    If you wanted to make a donation toward development of a datepicker I could bump this up the list, if not it’s on my todo list so I can let you know when it’s complete.
