Date Validation in a Textbox

I would like to add a Textbox (Not a date picker) for User Birth Date. But I want to validate that the field is in the correct format or not, which should be dd/mm/yyyy. If it isn’t in that format, I want to print an error message to the user.
Is that possible?

It is possible but would require a little bit of coding.
In the field edit dialog Validate dropdown select “Custom validation”.
