    Me again ??
I was trying to use this for the HISTORY of the town website I am building, and this would require entering dates from the past (in this case as far back as 1279 AD). Whenever I try< this the post doesn’t show up and reverts back to today’s date. Could it be that only dates up until the (computing) world starting counting in 1970 are accepted? ??

    Hi ,

It’s certainly possible but I have had users who have entered dates back to the 1600’s.

I’ll take a look into your question , and verify if dates going back that far would indeed work as expected.

    Hi Evan,

Thanks so very much for the quick response.
I tried again now, and after saving the entry, it simply sets the date to today’s date and does not publish the entry. Please take a look at the dummy site:

Am I doing something wrong? Could this have anything to do with my server settings?

    Thanks a lot,

    Hi,

It sounds like your running into some sort of JS error or something wierd going on. Upon saving , the date shouldn’t revert to it’s original state.

The dummy site appears to be working. How many announcements have you created? I can see 4 seperate annoumcenets both in the HTML and on the front viewer facing side of your site.

    Hi Evan,

I have created 5 events. So far I have tried a few dates, and the ones from 1969 on work. I am really confused. SHould I set up a user for the CMS for you? Thanks again for the great support, even though I don’t have a support license.

    Cheers

No, I will look into the issue on one of my test sites. If I come across any issues I’ll work on getting a patch together. Support license holders receive priority support, and since I haven’t had this issue reported before it will be placed on the to do list.

I am currently working on a few other plugins, and will have to get back around to this one when time permits.

    Thanks,
    Evan

I can’t seem to replicate things on my end. If you can you may want to reach out to me via the contact form on my site. After initial contact I’ll ask for an export of your announcements so I can test things on my end.

    Thanks,
    Evan

I can’t go any further back than 1902…

If you’re having issues please make an export of your announcements and upload them somewhere and either share the link here or email me via the contact form on my site and share the link there. I can’t reproduce the issue and would need your announcements to see whats going on.

    Thanks,
    Evan

OK I’ll see what I can do. I was reading about this being a PHP limitation…

    Hi Tim,

You can export your posts in the same manner you would any other post.

Head over to ‘Tools > Export’ and select the announcements. Once you export the posts, contact me via the contact form on my site. I’ll import them to a test site I have and see what I can come up with. I know a user in the past is using the premium version going back to the 1850’s so I’m not sure why you would be having issues past 1920.

    Thanks,
    Evan
