I am building a site using the Hathor theme. After installing this theme, my events calendar formatting is messed up. In the ‘time’ slot, it just shows the date of the event again. Random words in the entries (like state abbreviations) appear in bold. When I revert to an old template, this seems to resolve, but I’d like to know if there is a fix I can do to hang onto my Hathor template AND have my events calendar work.

Revision: When I revert to twenty-fourteen theme, I am actually still experiencing the problems. For example, here is how my date and time is currently appearing: April 23 @ April 23 – April 23

Oh dear that’s no good. Is the bold issue also appearing in Twenty Fourteen? I would think that has gone away.

The other issue regarding dates is either a settings issue, or a conflicting bit of code somewhere. Hopefully we can fix it simply by going to WP Admin > Events > Settings. You will see 4 different areas for date format settings. They each contain a PHP string that get’s interpreted as a a date format setting. Refer to this guide for which characters to inptu in there, and which ones not to: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Formatting_Date_and_Time Inputting the wrong ones can easily cause a date like that.

If that doesn’t work, make sure you have faithfully followed this guide and its steps in order to 100% check for that problem. But only mess with this is f the above doesnt work: Test For Conflicts

    Cheers!
