    Hi Support,

We would like to bring up an issue when dealing with Daylight Saving Time.
This causes future dates to be off by an hour.

Example is, I sent an event today at 10AM and is to recur once a month.
If I navigate to the calendar and check the future months say November, it is showing 11AM which is not the correct time.

Do we have a work-around or configuration for this? Or hopefully a future fix?

    Thanks!

    PS: Still an awesome plugin.

  • Hello thefriendlancer,

I’ll submit this request to the development team as a future improvement.

For the time being, be aware of the DST switch date, and manually adjust the times as necessary in order to show the accurate time for events that fall in DST (or out of DST).

    Hi Support,

We are getting TONS of complaints from our clients about this issue since the DST switch.
Can you please provide an ETA on when will the fix for this be available?

    Thanks!

    Hi @thefriendlancer,

This is an option that I didn’t realize before. It shows the timezone on the event details page.

Navigate to your Dashboard > Events > Settings > Viewing Events tab >

Scroll down to the bottom and check the following checkbox:

[] Display events in calendar time zone
If this box is checked events will appear in the calendar time zone with time zone information displayed on the event details page.

Then click on the [Save Settings] button.

    Hi Sunny,

Thanks for the suggestion, we did see that setting but we don’t think it solves the issue.
We have HUNDREDS of clients using your plugin – and what they just want is display the time that they saved for an event, “as is”.
It is just really strange and very that they saved an event for Sunday 10AM but starting March forward, it says Sunday 11AM.

And just to share, we are getting angry complains from our clients, and when we told them to just manually adjust the event dates, it is taking forever if they have a lot of events on their calendar – and they don’t find it an acceptable workaround.
So hopefully you can send a new version with the fix very soon.

Looking forward for a fix soon.

    Thanks!

I tried the Display events in calendar time zone box, and this does not resolve my issue. Instead of having my events repeat weekly, I am having to create my events each week for every day that I need them and this is very time consuming.

This has been going on for over a month and if this doesn’t get resolved, I will be looking for a different plugin to use for my calendar.

    Hello @debbers4,

There should not be a need to create every recurring event weekly, I would need more information to look at what’s going on in your account..

Could you log into your Timely account and open a ticket by clicking on the Get Help link, or click here: https://dashboard.time.ly/account/get-help.

I tried the Display events in calendar time zone box, and this does not resolve the issue. You can view a video recording I have here – https://www.screencast.com/t/O2yNyRSoOf7

    Hi @debbers4,

Thankyou for the detailed video explanation. I’ll submit a bug report for the development team to look at based on this video.. but first, please open a ticket by logging into your Timely account, then click on the Get Help button — this will help track your issue and will prioritize support for you as well. I will need you to confirm that (1) you are using WordPress and (2) the calendar version with the problem is our Core (WordPress) Plugin.

    Hi @thefriendlancer

No worries… a bug ticket has been submitted to the development team. Ref: PROD-3114

    Hi @debbers4,

Can you provide the version of PHP running on your server, and also the version of WordPress you are running, and the version of our calendar you are running?

    Hi Sunny,

I am having the same issue as @debbers4 and we are running PHP Version 5.6.30, WordPress 4.7.4, and the latest calendar plugin as we regularly update our plugins weekly.

Honestly, we really are wondering why there hasn’t been any fixes to this issue yet, considering this we feel is a very critical issue.
It defeats the purpose of calendar events if the time showing on our calendars are actually not accurate. This would mean attendants to our event, will be missing the event since they will be arriving late if they rely on the calendar event’s time which is off by 1 hour.

Hopefully there will be a fix for this issue soon!

    Thanks!

    Hi @thefriendlancer,

Just to update you that the bug ticket is still being worked on by the development team. I will update this thread once there is an update/fix.

    Hi Sunny,

Do we have any ETA about this issue or on what version will it become available?
A lot of our customers are becoming frustrated to say the least about the DST issue – especially when we told them that the “solution” (as advised) is to manually adjust the times.

Hopefully this issue will be addressed soon.

    Thanks!

    Hi @thefriendlancer,

The solution is rather a temporary workaround. Sorry, the bug is still in progress. Will advise when there is an update/fix.
