    Hello.

I don’t receive anymore the DB backup file on my email adress.

I tried to change the periodicity of it, also tried to change my email adress, but it still doesn’t work.

    Any idea on the problem?

Hi, what is the size of your database? There might be a size limit to what you can send via your email server.

    Kind regards.

    Hi, thanks for your help.
The database is around 400Ko… I doubt it is over the limit…
Plus, I am still able to send the backup file via email, if I do it manually on the admin page of the plugin…

Could you ask your hosts for you php error logs?

We highly recommended to use the UpdraftPlus Backup plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/updraftplus/ for database and other backups. It is specially designed for the backup features and It works in the constraint server environment.

    Thank you!

    Hi, thanks for your help.

I already asked my host about the issue, but I don’t have the answer yet.

I use another plugin for my website backups, which works very well and I don’t plan to use UpdraftPlus Backup plugin only for DB backups.

What is strange is that for one of my two websites the DB auto backup works very well with your plugin and anyway, I’m still able to send me the DB backup via email manually on the two other websites.

I wanted to add that my three websites are very similar, same theme, same plugins, same number of plugins… for what it’s worth…

For email are you using as SMTP plugin, if so which one, is this the same on all your sites?

    Thread Starter laxal

    (@laxal)

No, I don’t use any SMTP plugin.

I received an answer from my host. They told me there is no reason for the backup file sent via email to be blocked, rejected by the sever. The DB backup files are around 400Ko, way less than the limit.

Maybe I could try to deactivate the plugin, delete it and re install it?

Unfortunately, I dont think reinstalling the plugin in going to help.

If your backups are working and your email settings are correct, it’s likely that your UpdraftPlus emails are being treated as spam.

Email delivery problems are common with all WordPress plugins, and it comes down to the way WordPress generates emails.

By default, WordPress uses the wp_mail() function, which generates emails and sends them from your web server. This method doesn’t add any authentication to your emails, which means that the servers handling the emails can’t easily check that they’re really from your site.

To fix this, you can trying using WP Mail SMTP.

“your UpdraftPlus emails are being treated as spam”
I don’t use UpdraftPlus… The issue is on AIO WP Security Plugin, which doesn’t send automatically the DB backup via email.

And once again, what is strange is that it worked perfectly for years and it still working with one of my websites.

I’ll try to use WP Mail SMTP, ok.

    Hi,

UpdraftPlus now owns this Plugin, it sounds like your system is flagging the email as spam
