I have just upgraded to the latest version of iThemes Security and, before upgrading my version of WordPress, I wanted to run a backup.

I went into the settings for backup and selected ‘save locally only’ and changed the directory path to a directory of my shared server base location.
    I then saved !

I ran the backup and expected to see the backup file created in the directory I specified.

However, I have received an email – not requested – and the backup was still put in the default location.

Is this a known bug ?

Yes, this is a known bug.

Though the email part is new …

Correction: It seems every manual attempt to create a Database Backup sends an email. It’s coded to ignore the Backup Method setting. The Backup Method setting only applies for scheduled Database Backups.

Is a bug fix planned, in this case ?
