DB backup with no problems, files take forever and don't complete…

  • Hi there, first of all thanks for this excellent plugin, it’s usually the first thing I install on a new site!

    I have a question though: backwpup backs up to my local FTP server at home (dyndns). I managed to get this set up perfectly as the mysql DB gets uploaded on a daily basis. Really cool and no need for dropbox etc…

    My question is regarding files. My site is around 180MB in data volume, however the files back-up seems to fail all the time (just gets stuck with the progress at around 40%.

    I have a VPS with 2GB RAM (WP can use 256MB which should be enough). My question is:

    – how can I debug what’s happening, as the action log is very limited
    – what could the causes be, PHP execution time etc.?

    One more note: after a few minutes: I get this message:

    WARNING: Job restart due to inactivity for more than 5 minutes.

    Not sure what this means, but I understand the backup script is somehow halted, why would that be?
