Hello, I uninstalled the Wordfence plugin (no issues with the plugin) after learning that my hosting provider provides a similar level of security on the cloudserver service which I used.

After the uninstall I’ve noticed the following tables are remaining from Wordfence:
    _wffilemods
    _wfknownfilelist
    _wfblockediplog
    _wflogins
    _wfhits
    _wfstatus
    _wfcrawlers
    _wfblocks7
    _wfnotifications
    _wfreversecache
    _wfls_settings
    _wfissues
    _wfsnipcache
    _wffilechanges
    _wfhoover
    _wflivetraffichuman
    _wflocs
    _wfls_2fa_secrets
    _wfpendingissues
    _wftrafficrates

    Can you please:
    1. Confirm that the table ARE left from the Wordfence uninstall?
    2. Confirm that there will be no issues with my website if these tables are deleted?
    3. Explain why wordfence left these tables after the uninstall?

Thanks in advance. Trying to do what I can to improve site performance so wanting to remove these tables.

    Regards
    Don

  • Wordfence doesn’t delete its tables when you deactivate the plugin. If you want those tables deleted, then:

    1. Reenable the plugin
    2. Go to: Wordfence -> All Options -> General Wordfence Options -> Enable “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation”
    3. Deactivate the plugin

    See: https://www.wordfence.com/help/dashboard/options/#delete-tables

That worked and thanks for the quick reply. All tables were deleted with the exception of:
    _wfls_settings
    _wfls_2fa_secrets

Is it ok to delete these two remaining tables?

    Thanks

    Hi @drosberg,

Those will be left as there’s also an option to “Delete Login Security tables and data” on deactivation in the Wordfence > Login Security > Settings page, so those remain in case you want to keep your 2FA settings.

You can manually remove them if you’ve already removed the plugin. For anybody else referencing this, there’s a full list of our database tables on the following page: https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/

You can also use the Wordfence Assistant plugin to remove plugin data.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
