de_DE.po instead of de_DE_formal.po

Did you try updating the language pack?

Try going to /wp-admin/update-core.php and see if there are available language updates.

thanks for your fast reply!

Unfortunately there are no updates available. I checked the language pack, too: with the plugin loco translate (https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/loco-translate/). Seems to be okay. Tried to change it with loco translate. Works just fine, but doesn′t help in the frontend.

The message still pops up after registering:
https://…URL…/members/register?message=checkmail&um_role=subscriber&um_form_id=6

In the backup files it just turns up in…
wp-content\languages\plugins\ultimate-member-de_DE-backup-202105251650110.po~
Looks like a loco translate backup.

In the database in a table called user_roles with “um_cache_userdata_” and “checkmail_message” for every registered user.

Maybe that helps in narrowing it down.
